Hey I followed you guys over from ADVrider. I think you guys are great. My wife and I would love to do something like this.

I think you made the right decision by grabbing the Suzuki. It will be more fun for both of you.

I am 46 and my wife is 45 we are with out any children or real responsibility. We just need a little push and we will be doing the same thing as you guys.

Take care, be safe, and have fun

    • Trond says:

Hey Mike – great to have some ADVriders on board with us! I hope your wife and you will take the plunge too. It can be a challenge at times, but the rewards are worth it.

      Cheeers,
      Trond

  3. Pia Wyatt says:

I am so proud of you, Roz, for going so far (waaaaay farther than I EVER could) over such crazy terrain – good for you to do it! And what a great guy for Trond to be so open to changing means of travel – and isn’t that what the trip is all about? Being able to be “go with the flow” and be safe and have fun while doing it?? Yup!! We LOVE the posts from way down here in Louisiana – I know it is making Rick jealous and miss his bike trapped in the storage container in Vancouver.

I look forward to many more adventures from you two – thanks for being so diligent on the posting and so descriptive in what you are experiencing. Love the photos!! You both look fantastic!

love to you both! If you want to swing by Louisiana on your way back – it is just a SMALL detour 😉 – we would love to have you!

    • Trond says:

Hey Pia – great to hear from you! You can tell Rick that I feel his pain. I haven’t rode my bike in two weeks and it’s killing me!! Thanks for the invite – if we come back that way, we’d love to swing by. Love to the whole family!

Hey u guys. Sounds like quite the adventure. Not sure where in Mexico u are going, but I am heading down to La Ventana, baja Mexico on dec 4-11. It’s only for a week but just thought I would throw it out there on the odd chance u might be headed that way.

    🙂

    • Trond says:

Hi Kelli! Karen mentioned you’re on your way down to the Baja, but alas, we are heading down through the mainland this trip. I thought of you guys as I leafed through a Decline in a Tucson Safeway last week and read an article about the North Shore race. Looks like that pump track is getting lots of mileage. Big love to you and Darrren and have fun in the Baja!

  5. Homefront Fran says:

    Hi Roz, Hi Trond,
It’s been fun reading your stories of many roads travelled, up, down, sideways. Being open to the road, to people, to each other -it’s all good. Can’t say as it makes me yearn for old days of doubling up home from New Orleans on a 441 BSA Victor…
I bet you two find you will still attract new friends in the Suzuki – it’s the shiny energy, not the number of wheels!
Looking forward to the next chapters. All the best.

    • Trond says:

Hi Fran – Roz gives a big hello! I gotta say, that’s a great quote: “it’s the shiny energy, not the number of wheels.” Made me feel all squishy inside – thanks. BSA Victor, eh? Now there’s a classic – although probably more fun up front.
      Cheers,
      Trond

  6. Androman says:

Hey you rockstars 🙂 Make sure to let me know the places you’ll be around so I can give you some of the insider secrets for many of the places you’ll be!

    Much love,

  7. Sista Krista says:

    Hey guys,
Mom had a Suzuki Samarai for many years and then passed it on to Marika who drove back and forth to the bitter cold of North Bay, Ontario. My second car was a Suzuki Sidekick and I loved it. It runs in the family 🙂 Sorry we missed you the other day. We’ll catch up soon!
    Love you,
    Kie

    • Trond says:

Hi Sis!! Yeah, I was thinking of mom when we bought the Samurai – I’ve got a feeling she’s having a good laugh watching us from above. I totally forgot you had a Tracker – we actually looked at one in Tucson, but the Sammy was cuter so we got that instead. That’s always a good reason to buy a vehicle!

And yeah, we’ll set up a skype call soon.

      Love Trond

  8. Sabine says:

I do not see any mention of suzzy (suzuki) on your trips and I hope she is treating well! When you and Roz have had your fill of traveling, please give Inge and I a call, we would love to have you as guests.

Love the stories guys. Great to see y’all are still having fun. Finally am reading this blog after your 1 year update. Its getting me in the mood for adventure again after a summer in Northern MN. U.S. I am heading back to Earth Lodge in early November to pour some more white russians, then, probably to Columbia after seeing your pictures and hearing your stories. Safe travels, keep on keepin on!
